Ultrasound Assessment & Dissolving

Includes ONE Dissolving Treatment Session + Complimentary Review

As our dissolving appointments continue to increase, we want to clarify how our consultations, treatment sessions and ongoing reviews are managed.

At SHEER, we have a saying:

“If you touch it, you own it.”

Once we assess or treat an area, we accept an ongoing clinical responsibility to provide appropriate advice, documentation and follow-up care.

We are here to help patients with previous augmentation requiring assessment or correction. Approximately 99.8% of our dissolving patients were originally treated at another clinic, with many travelling from interstate.

These consultations can be complex, and we understand that many patients are simply seeking reassurance before deciding whether treatment is required.

Where appropriate, we encourage you to contact your original practitioner, as they know what product was used and how it was placed. However, we completely understand this is not always comfortable, and we’re always happy to help.

To ensure we can continue providing the highest standard of care, we have introduced clearer consultation and review protocols.

Our Approach

We do not believe every patient needs all of their previous augmentation dissolved.

Using diagnostic ultrasound, we identify where the product is located before making any treatment decisions. This allows us to recommend the most appropriate approach while helping preserve natural results and minimise unnecessary dissolving.

Following your assessment, we may recommend:

• Complete dissolving of the area

• Targeted (micro) dissolving

• No dissolving, with reassurance or monitoring

The decision is always yours. We will provide our clinical recommendations without pressure.

If you wish to have a different area assessed, this is booked as a new Ultrasound Assessment & Dissolving appointment.

Important Information

• Some patients require more than one dissolving session depending on the amount, age, type and location of the previous augmentation.

• While many hyaluronic acid (HA) products respond well to dissolving, we cannot guarantee complete removal. Results vary depending on the product used, how long it has been present and individual factors.

• As many of our dissolving patients were treated elsewhere, we often do not have access to previous treatment information, and some products dissolve less predictably than others.

• If available, please bring details of your previous treatments, including product names and treatment dates.

• Choosing a trusted and experienced cosmetic practitioner is important, as appropriate product selection, placement and documentation can make future assessment and management significantly easier should dissolving ever become necessary.

Under Australian law, you are entitled to access your health records from your treating clinic. We encourage you to request these records before your appointment where possible, as details such as the product used, batch number, quantity, treatment areas and treatment dates can greatly assist with your assessment and treatment planning.
